Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are your Physical Therapists licensed?
YES, our Physical Therapists are duly licensed by the State of Florida.
Q: Do I need a prescription from my doctor?
Although Florida is a “direct access” state, most insurance companies require a prescription in order to pay for treatments. We always recommend that you see your primary care physician or specialist in order to get a prescription.
Q: Will my insurance pay for treatments?
Most insurance plans do. We will verify benefits and inform you of any co-pays / deductibles.
Q: What insurance do you accept?
We are providers for Medicare, all auto insurers and workers compensation. We are also providers for various private insurance companies like United Healthcare and Humana. The best way to know if we accept your insurance plan is to call us at 813-949-0003.
Q: What is the co-pay for Physical Therapy?
The co-pay amount is determined by your insurance plan. We get this information from the insurance company when we verify benefits. Co-pays are collected at the time of treatment.
Q: Does Physical Therapy hurt?
“ No pain - No gain” is not true in most cases. When you start working muscles that have weakened from your condition, you might develop more muscle soreness.
Q: How long is a typical treatment session?
Plan on around an hour for the initial evaluation. The duration of subsequent treatments will depend on your needs, with the average treatment being around 45 minutes.
Q: How many treatments will I need?
Patients are typically seen 2 to 3 times per week depending on the type and severity of injury. The duration will depend on the severity of injury.
Q: What do I need to bring with me to my first visit?
Please bring the prescription for Physical Therapy from your doctor, your insurance cards, a photo ID, cash or check for co-pay/deductible, and any documents regarding your injury such as MRI reports. Please plan to arrive around 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment in order to complete the necessary paperwork.
Q: What should I wear to my treatment sessions?
Wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely when you exercise and that also allows you to expose the area we will be treating.
