Dino and Maria are both licensed Physical Therapists who have been practicing since 1987. Yes, it is possible for married couples to work together! Anyway, after years of working for large therapy corporations, the couple decided that they had had enough of the large corporation/shareholder accountable kind of business practices. Thus, Skilled Rehab Inc. was born.
They set up their practice in a way that went against the usual business of Physical Therapy. First of all, they schedule only one patient at a time per therapist. This could cause serious health problems for those large corporate bean counters. Large companies prefer to schedule multiple patients at a time for each therapist.
Another common practice is to hire what are called Therapy or Rehab Aides or Techs. These are hardworking, UNlicensed people whose job is to, well, help the Physical Therapist manage the multiple patients. At Skilled Rehab, they do not hire therapy aides/techs.
Some of our patients have told us that when they received treatment from other therapy companies, they never knew who would be giving or supervising their treatments because there were different people working with them. At Skilled Rehab, your treatment is closely monitored and you will get to know your therapist well.
